Position: Fish Cutting & Packing Crew
As the Fish Cutting & Packing Crew, you will play a key role in the efficient operations of our Marine Center and the Fish Processing Facility. Responsibilities include:
- Fish processing - cutting and cleaning salmon, halibut, lingcod, rockfish, etc.
- Fish packaging - vacuum sealing fish portions daily, and boxing fish each trip-end.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness following sanitation and food safety plans.
- Use of a vacuum packaging machine and other large equipment.
- Receiving and inventory management.
- Waste removal, freight unloading, and other tasks as directed by the Dock Manager.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work this physical job for 6 days a week/16+ weeks, cutting fish daily.
- Fish processing experience is a must.
- Preference for candidates with previous remote resort experience and/or relevant certifications.
- Class 5 Driver’s License required.
- Pleasure Craft Operator Certificate (PCOC) required.
Additional Details:
- This is a seasonal position based on Langara Island, Haida Gwaii.
- Contracts run from May to mid-September, totaling approximately 3.5 months.
- Room and board are provided, as well as flights to and from Vancouver.
